TBM PILOT CERTIFICATE

The success of a TBM operation relies on numerous factors. From hydrogeology and geotechnics to machine parameters and support technologies, TBM pilots shoulder the responsibility of overseeing a wide range of critical aspects. Recognizing the significance of this multifaceted challenge, EFNARC has taken the initiative to enhance the expertise of TBM pilots.

The course is aimed at both beginners and experienced TBM pilots who are to be deployed in a new area or on a new technology.

What will you learn?

The course aims to equip TBM operators with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their tasks in a safe, high-quality and efficient and therefore cost-effective manner. The training includes theoretical, virtual, and practical elements.

Our examiners are professionals with extensive industry experience combined with expert evaluation through VR simulations. After completing the course, participants will be familiar with the highest practical standards associated with the control of a TBM and be able to react competently to even unknown or unexpected situations.

Both for novice and experienced TBM pilots

There are basically no prerequisites for individuals that need to be fulfilled in advance of a TBM pilot. A basic understanding of civil engineering work, machine operation, associated risks and the general working procedures in the use of TBMs is an advantage. However, if you don´t have any previous experience, note that you need to acquire 90 days experience (Module 5) before or after the course to obtain the EFNARC TBM Pilot Certificate.
